Dangerous Substances and Preparations
Preparations are dangerous if their ingredients are, according to 1967/548/ECC Annex I (Download), categorized as dangerous and/or if the preparations contain a certain concentration of these dangerous substances.
This system of classification is the basis of the legal requirements regarding the labelling provisions and the child-resistant packaging of dangerous products. The labelling is done through special symbols warning of danger; additional information or advice can be given in special risk- or safety-phrases.
Besed on the warning symbols and risk-phrases, authorities decide whether or not a package needs a child-resistant fastening.
Whoever puts dangerous substances or preparations into circulation must be positive that the regulations concerning classification, labelling and packaging are observed.
