The services offered by ivm are based on a high level of expertise, accuracy and confidence. ivm is committed to quality management. It has implemented a quality management system, which is described in the ivm Quality Manual and audited by the DAR at regular intervals. Within the formalized quality management system, the deputy general manager also acts as quality management officer.

ivm is impartial in every respect and is primarily bound to the standards of child resistant packaging (CRP). As an accredited certification body, the services of ivm are, without distinction and at identical conditions, available to all manufacturers and suppliers and/or users of child resistant packaging or packaging components and to all companies that trade in such packaging or packaging components.

Our proceedings are governed by the provisions of CRP. These provisions are observed in exactly the same strict manner, no matter who the customer is and what his interests may be. When giving our expert opinion on child resistance to the corresponding standards of CRP, our major concern is to prevent danger to the health and lives of young children.

On the other hand, the certification of packaging according to the provisions of CRP helps to protect our customers from unjustified claims, although our certification does not relieve manufacturers of their producer liability. This aspect is very often underestimated by many potential suppliers.

The high quality of our services is to a high degree due to our staff, especially those whose job it is to evaluate packaging for child resistance. ivm has a team of specialists at its disposal and cooperates with reputable companies developing childproof packaging as well as marketing and sales experts. If children are involved in our safty tests, there is always a great number of specially trained school or kindergarten teachers and sociologists. These people are skilled to nurse and educate young children and they are intensively trained by us at regular intervals. Our consequent quality management assures our success. 

We have a remuneration system for testers that is independent of the scope and result of the testing. Several specialists work independently on each project, which makes sure that deviations and interviewer mistakes can be detected and corrected immediately. Moreover, our intensive investigations ensure that the certificates issued by ivm to DIN 45011 are recognized by customers, users, the critical public and even more critical competitors. ivm is subject to stringent quality checks and is formally accredited as a certification body. To guarantee impartiality and correct application of the standards for childproof packaging, the work of ivm is supervised by an advisory board, which also acts as a complaints body.
